homemade beauty - skin care regimen

Hi dolls,

I wanted to share with you all a proper skin care regimen that's easy to use and remember.
Regardless whether you're using a natural skin care products or a store bought products, you want to follow this regimen.

Daily Skin Care Regimen
night time routine
  1. remove your makeup.
    • use your eye-makeup remover for your eyes and your wipes or cold cream for the rest of your face.
  2. apply your cleanser.
    • The cleanser is designed to remove dirt, oil, make-up, and sweat and leave you skin clean and refreshed.
    • rinse off with luke warm water
  3. apply your toner using cotton pads.
    • the toner is designed to pick up anything your cleansed left behind and balance out your skin's pH. Sometimes cleansers are too harsh and strip too many natural oils in your skin and cause havoc. The toner prevents disasters from happening.
    • now that you know the importance of the toner, here's the golden rule - every time you rinse your face with water, apply toner after wards every time.
  4. apply your moisturizer  & night creams etc.
    • The moisturizer creates a seal to make sure the beneficial ingredients stay in your skin working and keeps nasty bacterias out.
    • During the night, your skin relaxes and regenerates. So it has time to soak up any moisturizers, eye creams, etc.
Daytime Routine
Similar to the night time routine

Since you removed your make-up the night before you can skip to the cleanser
  1. apply your cleanser.
    • removes all the night creams that may not work well with the sun.
    • rinse off with luke warm water
  2. apply your toner using cotton pads.
    •  every time you rinse your face with water, apply toner after wards every time.
  3. apply your moisturizer and sunscreen.
    • very important to apply your sunscreen SPF 30 minimum
    • sunscreen is not just for swimming and remember to apply it indoors and on cloudy days
    • apply at least 15 minutes from stepping outside so it has time to start working
Weekly Skin Care  Regimen

  1. remove your make-up
  2. apply your cleanser
  3. apply your toner
  4. towel steam for 3-5 minutes
    • place a damp towel in the microwave and and heat it up until it's warm
    • wrap it around your face
    • this helps open your pores for a deep pore cleansing
  5. exfoliate your skin
    • exfoliating helps remove dead skin cells resulting in soft glowing skin
    • there are two types of exfoliation: manual & chemical
    • manual - sugar scrub you do the work to remove the dead skin cells
    • chemical - tomato peel uses the natural acids to remove the dead cells
    • both are equally effective
    • rinse off with warm water
  6. apply your toner
  7. apply your mask
    • the mask is designed to close you pores while driving the beneficial ingredients of the mask deep in the skin.
    • rinse off the mask with cool water (keeps the pores shut)
  8. apply your toner
  9. apply your moisturizer & sunscreen

Something to think about (lovey dovey)

“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.”
— C.S. Lewis (The Four Loves)
